Room Assignment Process

New Students

  1. Complete the housing application online via the Housing and Dining Portal.
  2. Your housing assignment will be based on your Rensselaer deposit date, roommate(s), and housing preferences.
  3. You will receive your room assignment and roommate information through your Rensselaer email account. You can also confirm your housing assignment via the Housing and Dining Portal.

Returning Students

  1. Complete the housing application online via the Housing and Dining Portal.
  2. You will receive a randomly generated start time. Group Leaders can select housing for their group via the Housing and Dining Portal.
  3. After the housing selection process is complete, you can choose your meal plan via the Housing and Dining Portal.
  4. You can confirm your housing assignment via the Housing and Dining Portal.
