The Vasudha House is designed to support students with a passion for the environment, sustainability, biodiversity, energy systems, food systems, and other related and interconnected topics. Vasudha students are strongly encouraged (but not required) to take the Nature/Society course in the fall of their first year at Rensselaer, which incorporates field trips and workshops (such as apple picking, tours of the Radix Ecological Education Center, gardening, etc.) alongside readings and discussions that explore the nature/society of relationship. Vasudha House students often become leaders in the many active sustainability-focused clubs on campus such as the Student Sustainability Task Force, the Smart and Sustainable Lighting Club, Engineers for a Sustainable World, Engineers without Borders, and others.
