Accountability and Assessment

Fraternity & Sorority Commons is committed to fostering a community rooted in accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement. Through structured processes and transparent practices, we ensure that chapters and their members uphold the highest standards of behavior and engagement. This commitment is realized through a combination of self-governance, institutional policies, and clear assessment frameworks that promote individual and collective growth.

Chapter Conduct & Judicial Status

The FSC Chapter Conduct & Judicial Status platform plays a vital role in maintaining accountability and integrity within the fraternity and sorority community. By providing transparency regarding chapter statuses and setting clear expectations for conduct, it supports the development of a respectful and responsible campus environment.

Accountability Framework

  • Self-Governance: Each governing council has a structured framework to oversee its member groups, holding them accountable for their actions.
  • Institutional Standards: The Student Code forms the foundation of this system, ensuring alignment with Rensselaer’s values and policies.
  • Bylaws and Policies: Chapters adhere to inter/national and local bylaws, promoting responsible behavior and positive engagement with peers and the broader community.

Anyone within or beyond the campus community can report suspected misconduct involving a Greek-lettered organization. The Institute is committed to investigating all reports thoroughly and transparently, fostering a culture of accountability.

Assessment and accountability are key to ensuring the continued excellence of our fraternity and sorority chapters. The FSC Accreditation process provides chapters with clear benchmarks for success and offers resources to help them meet these expectations.

  • Accreditation Resources: Chapters can access the Accreditation document and related tools to streamline the submission process and ensure compliance with FSC standards.

Accreditation not only holds chapters accountable but also highlights their contributions to the campus community, reinforcing their commitment to excellence and sustainability.
