Important Application Dates
- Application Opens—Monday, April 6, 2026, 12:00 PM EST
- Preference Section of Application Closes—Friday, May 29, 2026, 5:00 PM EST
- The Preference section of the application allows students to provide building preferences and request a specific roommate. Students must submit their application prior to this section's closing to have building preferences and roommate requests considered.
- Application Full Closing—Friday, June 19, 2026, 5:00 PM EST
- Know that all incoming first-year students are required to live on campus. As a result, students who do not complete the housing application prior to its full closing date will still be housed. However, they will not be able to provide answers to the application's Lifestyle questionnaire, which is utilized in finding roommate matches for those that do not provide a requested roommate. This may result in less ideal roommate matches for these students.

Please note that students need to set up their RCS account prior to accessing the housing application. It may take up to 72 hours after setting up your account to gain access to the application. Instructions on setting up this account are included in your PIN email, which you will receive after making your deposit from the Office of the First-Year Experience.

- Application Full Closing—May 29, 2026
- Know that all second-year students are required to live on campus. As a result, students entering their second year who do not complete the housing application prior to its full closing date will still be housed. However, they will not be able to make any changes to the application's lifestyle questionnaire, which is utilized in finding roommate matches for those that do not provide a requested roommate. This may result in less ideal roommate matches for these students.
REMINDER!! All second-year students at RPI are required to live on campus for the duration of the 2026-2027 academic year.
Information regarding the housing application process for undergraduate students who are looking to live on campus during the Summer 2026 (students taking summer classes, conducting research on campus, or participating in a local co-op/internship) will be released in the coming weeks. Students should keep an eye here and on their RPI email for further information.
For all returning students who will be away for Spring 2026 and require Fall 2026-Only housing, the Fall 2026-Only application will be open in the next few months. The date will be announced shortly.
For all returning students who will be away for Fall 2025 and require Spring 2026 housing: the Spring 2026-only housing application is open now until January 11th.
